Join us for presentations by Mad Science from 6:15pm to 8pm on January 27th or January 29th. Both nights will offer the same presentations so that we can accommodate as many students as possible. This event is for ISD students only, we cannot accommodate siblings. Please remember parents must supervise their children, this is not a drop-off event. Registration Opens Friday 1/17 at 2pm Author Jesse Janowitz Books On February 24-28th, children's author and illustrator Jesse Janowitz will be visiting ISD to hold a writing residency with our 2nd to 5th graders. In lieu of a fee for her visit, Ms. Janowitz has asked the PTA to purchase a book for each child in the school. The PTA will be purchasing The Doughnut Fix in paperback for each child at ISD. If you already own The Doughnut Fix or have multiple children and wish to get both books, you may select to have the PTA apply the cost of the paperback towards the purchase of a hardcover of the The Doughnut King (which is not yet available in paperback). Brenda Macri Memorial Mrs. Brenda Macri, a beloved long-time teacher, here at ISD and in the Greenwich Public Schools, passed away last December 8th. To honor her memory, we are launching a campaign for the purpose of purchasing books to add to our collection in the Learning Commons in her name. Everyone who knew Brenda knew how much she loved children's books and always strived to have one in each child's hands. She was also passionate about gardening and flowers and we hope to also purchase bulbs and have students plant them to remind all of us of Brenda's beautiful spirit. Please consider making a contribution. The campaign will run now through the holiday season. Details will be forthcoming regarding a dedication event, which will be held in early 2020.
